After a long anticipation Mace has finally given birth to 8 healthy piglets on October 2, 2020. I was in Wyoming on a Photography workshop so I missed their birth but Josh was home to help Mace through her first time in labor. We've named all the piglets after places and things from Grand Teton National Park.
Mace started nesting around noon and was very restless. She finally settled down around 4 pm and had all eight piglets in about 2 hours. This was her very first litter and she knew exactly what to do. She is super careful around the piglets and makes sure not to step on them and also makes sure they are out of the way before she lays down to nurse. She is really enjoying being a mom. She had 5 boys and 3 girls. All were double wattled except 2 girls. Meet Mace's first litter! You can watch the piglets live on twitch.
